Celebrating Life

Karthik Murali

I am baffled sometimes that despite happiness is all over us, we humans mostly fail to see it and wait for a miracle to happen to change their lives and become happier. We generally expect big things to happen before we go out and celebrate the moments, like a big wedding, a new car purchase or to say the least, a birthday. In most cases, we end up waiting forever, brooding about our monotonous lives that we never get time to celebrate nor such an occasion

Live is not about waiting for the big moments, but rather finding the small moments that we already encounter, cherish and enjoy and celebrate for them. For example, after a long day at work, coming home to find your pet dog running towards you, licking you all over, wagging its tail furiously and end up playing with you for quite a while, which itself is quite a wonderful moment. In another scenario, your favourite team could have won the match making you feel really good.

So what are the little things that are necessary for me to celebrate each and every moment:
A peaceful home : Yes, who doesn’t love to go back to a home filled with calm and peace .A place where you can go back at any given moment and makes you feel relaxed .A home that offers all the facilities that you need to be happy and of course with the right people around

Job : Almost everyone has a demanding job that makes them work for at least 9-10 hours a day literally tiring them out. But what they don’t come to realize is that, the same job is the one that’s primarily responsible for their wealthy and happy lives and gives them the purchasing power to get what they need.

Travel : The biggest joy I get is when I have to travel. The joy of going in a train/flight, discovering new
places, tasting different cuisines and understanding new cultures and languages can be a cause for celebration as well. Whether it’s a road trip or travelling beyond to international destinations it’s an everlasting memory and one should experience this atleast twice a year, taking a break from the monotonous life

Blog : My biggest inspiration and reason for celebration is my blog. An outlet where I get to write all my creative articles on different topics and in process getting many wonderful prizes giving me a wonderful chance to celebrate

Pepsi IPL CrashtheIPL Ads

Karthik Murali

The biggest tournament of the year is here and its even bigger this time. The Pepsi IPL has arrived in style fresh out of the smashing World Cup in Australia. All the 8 teams have regrouped together to get into the T20 mode and have marked the Championship as their next target.

The excitement is over the roof as fans have lined up as early in the morning near the cricket stadiums to grab those tickets and not miss out one of the greatest and most glamorous cricketing spectacle of the year. The Fan base for many teams has crossed several millions as they fight it over in Twitter, Blogs and other social media sites furiously defending their team

On similar lines, Pepsi has started a new campaign that allows fans like us to show our excitement of the IPL and Pepsi by making short 30 second ads , calling it as #CrashthePepsiIPL
The submission gallery has now reached several hundreds as people have begun to create really quirky, innovative and funky ads on how they love Pepsi .After a tough review, I have narrowed it down to a few choices of ads which really impressed me, especially considering the fact that all these people are just amateurs and probably have never shot a video before

So here’s my list of favourites :

Love : This is a nice romantic ad, where a guy probably on a date is trying to put his hand over the girls shoulder but doesn’t get the courage to do so. He tries many times but fails in his attempts . But after a refreshing shot of Pepsi, the girl herself places her hand over his waist ,rejoicing in love. A nice innovative ad where it’s taken very aesthetically with a slight dose of humour

PepsiBreak : Definitely one of my most favourite ads in the list, this is a fully graphic video of an animated character in fight with another, finally punching him down to fly towards the bottle of pepsi. This is really an outstanding work of graphics where the character is merely drawn as sketches and clipped as video for this 30 second of ad. I’d probably place all my bets on this amazing ad to win the award and hope it gets aired on TV as well

The Game of Cricket : An intense game of cricket match where the batsmen hits it powerfully for a drive ,and the field chasing the ball finds the bottle of Pepsi  rolling ,and rather than fielding the ball, grabs the ball of Pepsi and runs away with it. A simple straight to the point ad, with a dose of fun and humour , this definitely ranks as one of my favourite and some good acting by the guys too

Crashing the Pepsi IPL

Karthik Murali
The Pepsi IPL 2015 is here with eight teams battling it out with all their nerves to get the championship. Almost all the teams have revamped their side, learnt from their past failures and have a better understanding of their opponent’s strengths and weaknesses. They are charged up to make a difference and justify their presence in their respective tams
The month long tournament sure has fired up the crowd's excitement as well, watching the big hitters smashing the deliveries to huge sixes and boundaries and enjoying in the revelry. The excitement is not only restricted to the on-field twenty over cricket match but also offline thanks to the new initiative and campaign by Pepsi called #CrashThePepsiIPL

This gallery : https://www.crashthepepsiipl.com/gallery.html contains a massive list of user created videos / ads based on the Pepsi IPL theme. Each ad has a very unique concept and a theme that is very delightful to watch .Spoilt for choices it was a very difficult one to choose which was one my favourite ,as there was so much good creative content all arouind

But if I were to choose a few ads that really impressed me, here’s the list and why

The Pepsi Proposal :
One of my most favourites would be the following ad, where two guys are trying to propose to a girl with a rose, but the girl on the other hand is attracted to the cool guy walking across drinking a can of Pepsi. Realizing their window of opportunity here, the other two guys rush off to grab a pepsi can themselves . Watch out for the surprise ending though J

Divided by Culture, United by Pepsi:
A very interesting ad, this one talks about two couples from different parts of the country trying to outsmart each other by displaying different varieties of food they carried along and finally both take out a bottle of Pepsi at the same time . Different states but one country!

The Desire :
The last ad I would like to talk about is a like typical commercial . A group of young women try to learn Yoga and meditation but rather succumb to the desire of having a drink like Pepsi and they wake up to the sounds of the instructor drinking a can of Pepsi in secret. The ad was well made, professionally shot, stuck to the script and really deserves the ad

Hope some of these ads are selected and aired on live television during the tournament

Promoting Underground Artists - Artistaloud.com

Karthik Murali

Music is an art form that can represent different things to different people. For some it can be a hobby, where one gets to practice it during their free time. For some, it can be their passion, a career they chose voluntarily, trying to make a mark for them. Turning down the lucrative corporate job offer, some musicians try to pursue their musical inclinations and begin to launch themselves in the music industry. Some succeed spectacularly and become famous directors, while some still hunt for music gigs in small concerts or end up becoming a YouTube Artist, whom I refer to as Underground Artists

With lack of recognitions and monetary support, there have been plenty of excellent underground artists who have gone unfounded. Compared to other countries, India has a massive wealth of artists who have immense potential to create and contribute to the world of music. But sadly, with the exception of the big artists, the smaller artists don’t have a platform to launch themselves and remain invisible to the world.

One such brilliant initiative to promote these upcoming artists is ArtistAloud.com. Their main objective is to create a platform especially for independent musicians, bands and singers who create non film private albums, reach out to them and assist them in promoting, distribute their music to a wider audience across the world. They have accumulated an immense collection of songs and music videos, in due process in almost every genre, language.
Some of my favourite artists in the site includes :

The list goes on and each day the artist count just seems to increase
Artist Aloud contains 200 + Artists who want to create a name for them and make their music heard throughout. With this aim in mind, ArtistAloud.com conduct the annual music awards for these artists, called Artist Aloud Music Awards (AAMA), where independent artists who are featured on Artist Aloud are felicitated for their creations in the field of Indian music.

The genre’s for these awards include :

  • Pop
  • Rock
  • Global
  • Fusion

The artists under these categories are selected by a very special extensive jury and the awards are given out based on a voting system and popularity. This is our best chance to promote upcoming artists, sharing their music and vote for them and do our part to promote this social cause :  artistaloud.com/aama

So if you’re in the mood to discover some new rock music or indie pop, log on to http://www.artistaloud.com/ and start grooving to the songs

Zenfone 2 - Redefining Smartphones

Karthik Murali
Asus has already proven itself with their previous launch of Asus Zenfone 4/5/6 series and with no surprise, had become an overnight success. With the launch of Asus Zenfone 2, the stakes has just got a whole lot higher, with even tougher specs, longer lasting battery and a phone that can give the big players a run for their money. So if I were to catalog the top 5 reasons why I would choose the Asus Zenfone 2 and complete redefine my smartphone experience, it would be the following

Processor & RAM
Zenfone 5, when it was launched came with an impressive 2GB RAM and an Intel Duo Core processor, something quite rare among the phones that was launched then .It meant immense processing capabilities that one could do.Zenfone 2 however has literally doubled this capacity with a never before seen 4GB RAM, inside a 5.5’ inch phone. This is technically the world’s first smartphone to come with a 4G RAM and possessing a dual channel performance. Coupled with a 2.3GHz 64-bit Intel® Atom™ Z3580 Quad Core processor (this is nearly more than 7 times that of its predecessor) .My smartphone experience will never be the same again with this kind of hardware capabilities as it’ll offer me a very powerful gaming experience without any lags. This gives me an ideal chance to play Need for Speed, Asphalt 8 and Mortal Kombat in high graphics mode and also surf the net with a classic web browsing experience

Camera with Pixel Master Technology
Upgrading from 8MP camera in its predecessor to a 13MP af/2.0-aperture lens back camera & 5MP front Camera, the Zenfone 2 can be an ideal replacement for a digital camera. It can take high resolution photos in super HDR format, with large amount of detailing and most of all with zero shutter lag. The Low light mode in the camera is basically the tip of the iceberg, where photos are captured with nearly 400% brightness, even without the need of a flash. Your selfies just got a whole lot better too!

ZenUI Experience :
One of the most sought after features in any Asus Zenfone series is the supserior Zen User Interface experience. With careful attention to detailing, the ZenUI gives a very easy to use, more user friendly experience on top of the Android Lollipop OS. Some of the recently added components include ZenMotion, SnapView, TrendMicro Security etc

TurboCharging :
With the latest BoostMaster technology , Zenfone 2 charges upto 60% in a matter of just 39 minutes. This can be very useful when one is on the move and has less time to charge his phone which has drained out . The BoostMaster would be like an instant Adrenalin rush, powering the phone with a longer lasting battery
One more welcome move is the up gradation of the battery power from 2100 mAh(in its predecessor) to a 3000mAh battery that should easily make you last for an entire day

Dual Active Dual Sim
ASUS Zenfone 2 comes with a Dual Sim phone that can be active simultaneously. Switching between calls with two different SIM cars can never be easier than this. Most Dual SIM phones till date ideally say, the phone is out of network coverage area for a Sim, when the other SIM is being used. But this is no longer the case when it comes to Asus Zenfone 2 , as you can switch between the numbers seamlessly
